The Twitter Drinking Game
Let me be honest with you - last week’s drinking game (in honor of Friday Fun) that dealt with the television show House, M.D. was, frankly, a dud. I did my best, but it kind of sucked. So, I’m here to redeem myself with a little pre-Friday Friday Fun. That said, let’s get going…
The House, M.D. Drinking Game
Like watching surgeons do their thing? You can watch a lot closer with a Surgical Technician degree.

Some of you may remember the moderately popular Law & Order Drinking Game from a few months back. Sitting around with my wife coming up with marginally esoteric (yet regular enough to work) was a complete blast. And since House is just about on equal footing with Law & Order in terms of “must-see” shows, it only made sense to try our hands at a similar game.
For those who have never seen the show, here’s the one sentence synopsis: Greg House is a holy-crap-awesome doctor who is a whiz at diagnosing strange diseases and conditions, but also a total dick who treats everybody like crap. With me? Ok, let’s do it…
Friday Fun: Find me on Facebook
While I’m still on the fence with regards to the actual value of facebook, you can add me as a friend here (apparently only after you login). Unless I actively dislike you, I’ll add you as a friend and we’ll do facebook stuff. It’ll be grand.
That is all - have a great weekend!
12 Easy Ways to Spice Up Your Weekend
It’s easy to get caught up in the rat race. Weeks turn into weekends and, before you know it, it’s back to work. You could swear that you just left the office as you’re pulling into the parking lot on Monday morning. It can be downright depressing.
The good news is there are things you can do to make your weekend more enjoyable. If nothing else, you’ll at least make a few people wonder what types of medications you should be taking. A word of warning, though: most of these items (the ones that involve other people) are best perpetrated with strangers instead of friends or family. Keep reading and you’ll understand why…
Friday Fun: Toddler Monster Beat-Down
This is a little girl. She’s going to tell you how she’s going to deal with any monsters that roll into her crib (no pun intended) uninvited…
Friday Fun: Law and Order Drinking Game

As some of you may already know, I’m a big fan of Law & Order. It’s by far the most Tivo’d show at my house, hands down. I’ve been known to plow through 4-6 episodes on a lazy Saturday night - I’m not joking about this, I’m a fan.
So, as any avid fan would tell you, there are a handful of things that tend to happen pretty regularly on the show. And while I’m a little old to be doing shots (got that out of my system awhile back), I would imagine it would be quite entertaining to watch a group of people play the game I’ll be describing in a second.
Basically, the rules go something like this: Whenever any of the following things happen on the show, a drink is taken. Sure, I could have certain events be worth more shots than others, but frankly I’m too tired to think about it that much
Here’s the list of “drink triggers” (note that these apply to the original Law & Order, not the spin-offs):
Friday Fun: Personal Stuff and The Best Video Ever
You all might have noticed that things have slowed down a bit here at the old CW. Well, there are a couple of reasons why:
First, I’ve recently accepted an offer with a new employer doing web development with PHP, Flash and other stuff (which I’m terribly excited about). This coming week will be my last week at my current job, so I’m hip-deep in documentation and baton-passing. I’ve also got quite a bit of learning ahead of me, so most of my evenings are spent with my nose in books about programming languages. Fun stuff, indeed.
Friday Fun: What’s Playing on My iPod
For this edition of Friday Fun, I thought I’d let you in on a little more personal information about yours truly. I’m something of a music nut (though I have virtually no musical talent whatsoever) and my job affords me the opportunity to listen to my iPod for the better part of most work days. I also have what some might call ‘eclectic’ tastes when it comes to my tunes (though my wife would describe much of it as ‘headache-inducing noise’).
Here’s a quick rundown of what albums have been getting serious play on the old ‘pod this week (and this isn’t based on any sort of statistics or hard data, it’s just what I can think of off the top of my head):
Free Software: WinStikker Goes Open Source
Since posting WinStikker awhile back, I’ve had a few requests for the source code so people could monkey with it themselves. Well, ask and you shall receive.
This probably won’t interest most of you, but to all the C# hackers and stikkit enthusiasts out there, here it is. I’ve created a subversion repository and imported all of the source code needed to build the application, as well as a simple windows batch file to do the actual build.
Friday Fun: 4D Ultrasound of My Daughter
As I’ve previously mentioned here a couple times, my wife and I are expecting our second child this June - a little girl named Nora. And being the technophile you all know I am, we decided to chump out the bejamin for one of those new-fandangled 4D ultrasounds (mostly so we could be sure of the sex of the baby, but also because the concept intrigued us). It came with a DVD of the entire thing, which I promptly ripped and posted to the inter-tubes.
Anyway, here it is, hope you enjoy it. And no jokes about the Celine Dion soundtrack, that was decided before we got to throw in our $.02 - Happy Weekend!
