Each time you use a gift card keep your new receipt. When you get home, print out a new label and put it on the card. Repeat each time you use a gift card or get a new one.

I second Andrew’s response. I’ve always written it on with a Sharpie. When I use it and leave a balance, I wrap the receipt around it until I get home then cross off and write the new value.

I don’t have an issue with it wearing off since I keep them in a stack on my dresser until I use them. I’ve got a Jimi wallet and only carry around ID and 2 other cards.

Nice! I’ve always taken a lazier route – write the value on the card with a Sharpie. Although that rubs off in your wallet – at least, it does in mine.
